Deni Avdija led Portland (12-16) with 24 points and 10 assists and Shaedon Sharpe added 23 as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Sacramento Kings 98-93 Saturday night at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
The Trail Blazers were playing without Jerami Grant (Achilles), so Tiago Splitter gave his starting spot to Kris Murray. He finished with nine points and three rebounds.
Donovan Clingan recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds on 6-of-7 shooting and Toumani Camara finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Sacramento (6-22) pulled to within one-point with 3:56 remaining but Sharpe and Clingan responded with six-straight points to give Portland enough separation to hold on and get the win.
It was the first win on the season for the Trail Blazers when being held under 100 points.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers return to Portland to meet the Pistons Monday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
