Manase Hungalu: Polynesian Player of Year Finalist

He was the heart and soul of the Oregon State Beavers defense the past two seasons. Linebacker Manase Hungalu is now a finalist for the prestigious Polynesian Player of the year award. Hungalu is one of five finalists for the award which honors the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian Ancestry. Hungalu hails from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

What an impressive career Hungalu had at Oregon State. 97 career tackles as a senior. This past season he also had 2.5 sacks, six tackles for loss and two interceptions. One was a pick-six against Portland State. You might notice the video I posted here. It was the week he managed 20 tackles against California and was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week.

Hungalu is due to graduate this month with a degree in Sociology. His career totals.......223 tackles and four interceptions.

The winner of the award will be announced December 12th
