Lexington- What a crazy 96 hours for the Oregon State Women's basketball team. Last Sunday they stunned the Tennessee Lady Vols with 66-59 victory at the Summitt in Knoxville. Tennessee had been 57-0 in NCAA home games at home until the Beavers pulled off something no other team had ever accomplished. After the game, a quick dinner and then a four and a half hour flight back home so the players could take finals. Wednesday afternoon back on the charter and a flight back to the Eastern Time Zone. This time to Lexington, Kentucky and a Sweet Sixteen showdown against 33-1 and #2 ranked Baylor.
The Beavers fondly remember Baylor. Two springs ago Oregon State met Baylor in the Elite Eight in Dallas. Just a stone's throw from Waco and the Baylor campus. What transpired next was the greatest moment in Oregon State hoop history. The Beavers were big underdogs and the Bears had thousands of screaming fans rooting them on at American Airlines Arena. However the Beavers pulled off a dramatic 60-57 win and a trip to the Final Four. Can it happen again against Baylor? Details and news conference to come on the Rip City Radio 620 Website. By the way, our sister station 1190 KEX will carry the Oregon State/Baylor battle tomorrow. 3:30 the pregame coverage
