CWS Postponment: Extra Day helps Beavers?

CWS Rainout

I had the honor to emcee the Oregon State Golf fundraiser at Tualatin Country Club yesterday. The dinner was all set up so the participants could watch game one of the College World Series finals. Well we all know what happened........rain cancelled game one until later today.  Everyone at the golf course (all big time Beaver fans) were pretty pleased the game was pushed back 24 hours.

It gives the OSU pitching staff that extra day they needed. Luke Heimlich tonight's projected starter will now have his normal five days rest between outings. The same thing and be said for Game Two starter Bryce Fehmel and if necessary Game three starter Kevin Abel.

What about Steven Kwan the centerfielder who has the hamstring issue? I know Pat Casey would love to have him back in the lineup. He was in the starting lineup last night so he also gets an extra day to rest that strained hammy.

Arkansas is really well-rested....,maybe too much. They have played just three games in their nine days in Omaha. Their ace Blaine Knight is 13-0.

Mike Parker and Jim Wilson will have all the action live this after on Rip City Radio at 3:30 with the first pitch at 4;05......if the Omaha weather Gods cooperate!!
