Arizona throttles Beavers 35-14. Jonathan Smith reacts!

SEATTLE- I am sitting in the Century Link Press Box on this Sunday morning.....a couple of hours before the winless Seahawks host the Dallas Cowboys. On the trip north from Portland I had three hours to think about the 35-14 loss to Arizona. Here are a few thoughts

14 POINTS is quite a departure from the 38 they were averaging in the first three games. QB Conor Blount was 17 of 24 but for just 137 yards. He also seemed to struggle with his reads and took off running a few times to avoid pressure. 12 carries for one yard for Blount.

Jermar Jefferson shows he is a workhorse for the Beavers and averaged 4.3 yds per carry against a Wildcat defensive line that created problems for the Oregon State offensive line all afternoon long.

Timmy Hernandez is the most underrated WR in the Pac-12. His run after the catch when he wound up in the endzone with a 25 yard TD Reception was epic and shows he is much more than a possession receiver.

Khalil Tate was held in check in the air with just 152 yards but he did throw a couple of beautiful passes for Touchdowns. It was the running game that really befuddled the Beavers. When you have a safety like Jalen Moore making 14 tackles and 13 of them unassisted the defensive line wasn't getting the job done.

The defense did okay at times. I mean it was a seven-point game at halftime but Arizona contributed to that missing out on scoring opportunities in part due to penalties.

Probably the most disappointing effort of the season . The team played so hard but the offense needs consistancy at QB and better protection is part of that. The Beavs have a chance to bounce back next Saturday in Tempe. Pregame coverage begins at 4:pm on 1190 KEX with the kickoff a little after 7:pm
