I was sitting at Gill Sunday with 4,015 basketball fans watching the start of the Women's game and keeping an eye on the phone to see the score of the Oregon State game. They did rally but came up short against the Billikens of St. Louis. Here is the game story courtesy of Oregon State.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Ethan Thompson posted his first career double-double in a 65-61 loss to Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon at Chaifetz Arena.

The Beavers (6-2) rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit to take a 53-50 lead on a layup by Stephen Thompson, Jr. But Saint Louis (7-2) responded with seven unanswered points.

Thompson had 22 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals. It's the second straight game he's scored 22 points. Tres Tinkle also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Thompson Jr. was the other Oregon State player in double figures with 10 points. Javon Bess scored a career-high 24 points to lead the Billikens. Fred Thatch Jr. added 16 points and Carte'Are Gordon added 11.

The Beavers return to action on Saturday, Dec. 15 when they face Texas A&M at 8 p.m. in the Dam City Classic at Moda Center in Portland.
