Beavers blast Bakersfield 92-52 with 16-three pointers!!!

I guess you could call it a New Year's Day celebration a couple of days early. The 11th-ranked Oregon State Women's hoop team dominates Cal-State Bakersfield 92-52 and does it with a barrage of long distance shooting and impressive rebounding.

First the shooting......16-three pointers....two shy of the all-time record set lasf season at Seattle when they buried the Huskies with 18 threes. Kat Tudor was up to her usual tricks with five threes and how about the performance of Mikayla Pivec. The junior had a career high 22 points and 10 rebounds plus was 9-9 from the floor including 3-3 from behind the arc. She should be in contention for Pac-12 Player of the Week.

Katie McWilliams hit three of the threes from the left baseline....her favorite spot. She wound up with 15 points.

Another stellar crowd showed up to root on their Beavs......4,393 without students on campus and during a holiday week. The Beavers now improve to 10-2 on the young season but things get ramped up beginning next Friday when Pac-12 conference play begins. Oregon State will host the Washington State Cougars. More on the Beavers chances in the conference later this week. They have won three of the past four Pac-12 titles. Here are the comments of Head Coach Scott Rueck at his post game presser. He likes his team and believes they can contend for another title!!
