Another impressive performance by the 10th ranked Oregon State Beavers. Pulling away from the USC Trojans in the second half and coming away with a 76-52 victory. The Beavers remain tied for the top of the Pac=12 with a 4-0 record. Oregon and Stanford also at 4-0

he No. 10 Oregon State women’s basketball team wrapped up a Southern California sweep Sunday afternoon, taking down USC 76-52 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
“I was really pleased with our defensive effort all day,” said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. “This team had to play with laser-focus this weekend to compete with two very good teams. I thought our offensive execution was as good as it has been all year, and when you put that together with our defensive effort and our rebounding it gave us an opportunity to separate. I was pleased with our effort overall.”
With the win, the Beavers remain perfect in Pac-12 play, moving to 4-0 in conference action and 14-2 on the season overall.
Junior Mikayla Pivec came up with another big game, scoring 21 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the floor and 8-for-8 shooting from the free throw line. The guard also tallied seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Junior Madison Washington set a career-high with 19 points and notched seven rebounds, going 8-for-10 from the floor. Sophomore Aleah Goodman knocked down five 3-pointers to finish with 17 points, while fellow sophomore Taya Corosdale pulled down nine boards. Destiny Slocum led all players with six assists.
As a team, the Beavers shot 55.1 percent from the floor and held USC to 25 percent shooting. Oregon State held a 41-30 advantage in rebounds and out-scored USC 26-16 in the paint.
The teams traded buckets in the early portion of the game, before the Beavers were able to get out to an eight-point lead late in the first quarter behind a trio of 3-pointers from Goodman. Oregon State took a 19-13 advantage into the second quarter.
The Women of Troy cut into the lead earn in the second period, getting back within four three minutes into the frame. Oregon State took a 34-29 edge into the break.
Goodman knocked down four triples in the first half to finish the first 20 minutes with 14 points.
USC knocked down a 3-pointer to get back within a basket in the opening moments of the third quarter. The Beavers responded to go in front by double-figures mid-way through the period. Oregon State ended the third on an 11-0 run, holding the Women of Troy to seven points in the frame to go ahead 58-36.
The Beavers continued to control the contest in the fourth quarter, taking the win by 24.
The Beavers will return home next week to take on Arizona Friday evening at 7 p.m.
