It wasn't pretty. A confident Oregon State basketball team went into Wells Fargo Arena looking to end their two-game skid against Arizona State. Instead, the Sun Devils used a stifling defense and were aided by questionable calls by the Pac-12 officials and they beat the Beavs for a third straight time....66-54 the final. Destiny Slocum the spark plug of the Beaver offense wasn't given a chance to contribute to the Oregon State game plan. She has never had foul issues but against ASU the refs called her for two quick fouls and she sat the rest of the first half. Despite that situation, Oregon State's Aleah Goodman and Mikayla Pivec kept the Beavers in the game with critical shots when they were really needed and it was 28-25 at halftime. But the Beavers played their worst third quarter of the season after halftime and the Sun Devils won the game 66-54. Slocum fouled out in the fourth quarter and soon after Coach Scott Rueck showed his frustration. He was upset with the foul calls and ended up with two technicals and was ejected with 2:19 to go. The Beavs drop to 13-4 in Pac-12 play but have locked up the #3 seed in next week's Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas.
Sunday one more regular season game at Tucson against Arizona. Pregame coverage on the Beaver Sports Network begins at 1:30pm
