This shapes up to be a telling weekend for the Beavers, Oregon, Stanford and Cal. Oregon State and the Cardinal are tied for first place in the Pac-12 with 17-4 records. The Ducks are struggling in Pac-12 play at 8-13 but a sweep of their rival could vault them into potential post-season play. For Cal, 13-8 in conference play, its a chance to break the 30-win mark overall and give them a chance to see past the end of the regular season.
For the Beavers, they are on a four-game losing streak although all four losses were non-conference affairs. One loss to Gonzaga followed by that sweep at home by Oklahoma State. Bryce Fehmel gets the Friday night start for the Beavers. Fehmel 6-1 on the season with a 3.51 ERA. Oregon sends Lefty Robert Ahlstrom to the mound at PK Park. He sports a 5-4 record with an ERA of 3.83.
