It is kinda odd right? This talented and dynamic Oregon State Baseball team has been in a funk the last five Tuesdays. The last time they celebrated on a Tuesday was over two months ago on March 12th when they edged the Ducks 7-6 at Goss. The losing streak on Tuesdays actually started against tonight's opponent Portland at Ron Tonkin Field. 5-1 Pilots on March 26. Since then, losses to San Diego State, Oregon, an extra inning loss to Nevada in Reno and then last Tuesday a 6-3 loss to Gonzaga in Corvallis. So the final non-conference game of the regular season is set for this afternoon. The team's RPI sits at 18 and so every win this time of the season looms large. Also, the fact Oregon State is tied with Stanford and they have a huge three-game series starting Friday means they must focus on Portland tonight and not look past the 24-25 Pilots.
Right now the Beavers are ranked anywhere from 10 to 12 in all of the National Polls.
Today's game starts at 5:35 this afternoon with pregame coverage at 5:pm on 1190 KEX in the Portland-Vancouver area.
