Are you familiar with Yacht Rock? You may not know it by name, but I would be willing to bet you are familiar with the soft rock favorites from the late 70's and early 80's. Yacht Rock is also known as the West Coast sound or adult-oriented rock which draws on sources as R&B, smooth soul, smooth jazz, disco, funk.
My goal with my latest podcast was to find out more about the genre, why Michael McDonald is the poster-child for Yacht Rock, what is the reason for its revival, and what does a song need to meet the requirements for falling under the Yacht Rock umbrella.
I am a huge music fan and have found that the majority of artists I enjoy listening to come from the foundation that comprises the Yacht Rock music.
