Oregon State's 2019 season officially begins this afternoon on campus. Yes, they have been talking for weeks about this day and now they can move on from Media Days and workouts on their own. Jonathan Smith says the vast majority of the practices will be in the afternoon to take advantage of the August heat to prepare for an impressive opening game on August 30th hosting Oklahoma State. During Smith's Media Day address he didn't announce any starting lineups. He still wants to see who is progressing and now many of the new arrivals are adapting to life in Corvallis. Fans will be able to get a preview of the Beavers on August 17th when the team has a scrimmage. It's part of the Family Fun Day gathering at Reser with the scrimmage set for 7:30pm. The same time the Beavers will face the Cowboys on the 30th. The above video features Artavis Pierce who is really excited about his senior season. I have also posted interviews with three other players. Isaiah Hodgins who is commited to getting even better than he was in 2018. Same goes for Blake Brandel and Elu Aydon who are two of the key offensive and defensive linemen and look to make those units much better this fall.
I am heading back to practice on Friday to talk to more players about the 2019 season. They will be posted right here on the Rip City Radio 620 website.
