The Minnesota Vikings want to ensure that all fans enjoy their time at U.S. Bank Stadium. The team unveiled a new sensory-inclusive room at the stadium where fans with Down syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder, autism, or other conditions can go to find a calm relaxing space during games.

The 6-by-12 foot sound-proof room features a sensory active wall display, sensory toys, low lighting, bean bag chairs, sensory bags, and will be staffed by two licensed behavioral specialists. 3M will provide any fan who needs to use the room with earplugs and noise-canceling headphones.

The room was designed with the help of KultureCity, a nonprofit that focuses on creating inclusive environments for people with autism. The organization also partnered with the Philadelphia Eagles to open a sensory-inclusive room at Lincoln Financial Field.

“Our continued focus is on elevating the fan experience for all Minnesota Vikings fans,” said Vikings Chief Operating Officer Kevin Warren. “Games should be as accessible as possible, particularly for fans with special needs, and we are proud to work with organizations like KultureCity to take this significant step forward.”
