The Beavers 2019 season was a pleasure to watch. Yah, they had a couple of games that says they have a lot of improving to do (Utah and Washington). They also were seven-points from being 8-4.(Hawaii, Stanford and WSU). Beaver fans are done suffering and it showed last weekend in Eugene. I can't tell you how many folks said the Ducks are angry and they will take it to OSU at Autzen. That never materialized. Oregon is an impressive team with incredible athletes and a group of special teams players that spelled the difference on the field in Eugene.
The Beaver had to go with a first-time starting QB in a rival game. I have been watching Tristan Gebbia on the sidelines all season long. During the ASU game Jake Luton had an equipment problem with a brace on one of his legs. He had to go into the medical tent to get it changed. Gebbia warmed up and was ready to go into the game in the next series. But seconds before that transpired Luton came running out of tent and he didn't go in the game. I could see his disappointment on his face and frustration. Saturday there was no equipement problem. He came in the game and had a solid performance.
Gebbia has a great chance to be the starter but the Beavers have invited a JC QB to visit Corvallis this weekend. Oregon Live says Chance Nolan a JC quarterback is visiting Corvallis this weekend. He is a dual threat QB and stands 6'2" and is 186 pounds. This season at Saddleback College he threw 38 touchdown passes and threw for 3,315 yards with a 68.5 percent completion rate. He also ran for 1.089 yards on the ground and scored six TS's.
No bowl game for Oregon State but that is the definite goal for the Beavers in 2020. Game one Thursday night August 30th in Stillwater against Oklahoma State
