Beavers top Colorado 72-60 and are now 14-0! Best start ever!

You knew Colorado would come into Gill Coliseum and show the world they are no pushover. Yah, Oregon embarrased them Friday 104-46. Sunday in Corvallis they came out with a huge chip on their shoulder and showed the Pac-12 why they were 12-0 before the game in Eugene.

The Beavers may have been a little sluggish in the first quarter but showed the 5,230 fans at Gill they can turn up the intensity. The second quarter was all Beavers outscoring the Buffaloes 23-9.

Freshman Kennedy Brown and Taylor Jones were outstanding for Oregon State., Brown had her best game as a Beaver scoring 12 points and grabbing eight boards with three blocks. Jones had six blocks, ten rebounds and sixteen points. 72-60 Beavers and now the schedule only gets tougher for Oregon State.

Both Brown and Jones are thrilled with the 14-0 start!

Mikayla Pivec and Destiny Slocum were both impressive for Oregon State. Pivec was everywhere. 15 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists. During the game she moved into the Pac-12's top 50 all-time in rebounding. Not bad for a guard!! Pivec and Slocum joined Coach Scott Rueck in the post-game chat with reporters.

The toughest challenge of the season awaits Oregon State this Friday. A game on the road in Tucson against 14-1 Arizona. The Wildcats lost their first game of the season to UCLA Sunday. They will have a huge crowd at the McKale Center Friday with the goal of knocking off the #3 Beavs. Should be exciting to see how the Beavers react to that challenge.
