Beavers hit 12 3 pointers and stop the Huskies 75-64!

The Beavers knew they were in for a fight. The Pac-12 player of the week Amber Melgoza was on fire all night long scoring 34 points. But the Beavers offense was just a little better. Aleah Goodman has 22 points and hit six three-point bombs to lead the Beavs past U-Dub 75-64. The Beavers control their own destiny when it comes to hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament. They are a bubble team right now but can solidify their case by beating the Cougs on Sunday and then putting on a good show at the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas next week. Two wins their would really give them a great shot. I talked to Aleah after the big win before 5,482 at Gill:

Scott Rueck also liked the way his team played as they continue to get comfortable playing more small ball and giving the guards a chance to score or get the ball into Freshman standout Taylor Jones who had 21 points and eight boards.

Now its one more regular season game Sunday in Gill against Washington State. Four seniors will be celebrated on this day, Jannesa Thropay, Kat Tudor, Maddie Washington and Mikayla Pivec. Pregame coverage on the Beavers Sports Network begins at 11:30 with the tip just after noon.
