The Portland Expo Center will again host its PDX Drive-in Movie Spectacular! Presented by the Love Portland Group, starting Thursday, August 13. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on August 7. The 6th Annual PDX Drive-in Movie Spectacular! is promoted in partnership with the Hollywood Theatre and presented by the Love Portland Group.
During these physically-distanced times, Hollywood Theatre and the Expo Center are collaborating to keep us socially connected to our communities and loved ones. The PDX Drive-in Movie Spectacular! running August 13-September 5, 2020, welcomes guests to safely gather for a nostalgic movie experience with today’s clear digital projection and professional sound quality. This is an all-ages event that is a throw-back with a modern twist.
“We’re in a unique position with our 53-acre campus to accommodate events and programming in a Drive-in or Drive-up format. We are excited to offer the community an opportunity to get out this summer and hope to expand into other opportunities,” said Matthew Rotchford, the executive director of the Portland Expo Center.
“Our partnership with the Expo Center allows our team to continue to offer cinema to the community which is not possible within our venue at this time. In our COVID reality, we believe an escape into timeless stories from different times, places, people, and perspectives is more important than ever,” stated Doug Whyte, executive director of Hollywood Theatres.
Food and beverage options from partners like Sizzle Pie and Starlight concessions will be available for pre-order via TicketsWest and also safely provided on site.
