The Steph Curry Show!
Steph Curry erupted for 21 in the first quarter en route to a career-high 62 points as Golden State Warriors dropped the Portland Trail Blazers 137-122 Sunday night at Chase Center in San Francisco.
Curry connected on 18 of his 31 shots including 8-of-16 from three-point range and 18-of-19 at the free throw line. Curry's previous best was 54 points against the New York Knicks back in 2013.
The 62 from Curry is the third-highest total against the Blazers in team history. Kobe Bryant scored 65 in 2007 and Rick Barry had 64 back in 1974.
The only blemish on Curry's night was a missed free throw in the first quarter snapping his franchise-record 80-consecutive makes from the line.
The Warriors played with more energy than the Blazers from the start. As a result, Golden State won the rebounding battle 53-40, points in the paint 60-40, and shot 55.7% on field goals.
Damian Lillard led Portland (3-3) with 32 points, CJ McCollum added 28, and Enes Kanter recorded a double-double off the bench with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
The early season struggles continued for Jusuf Nurkic. He finished with seven points and two turnovers on 3-of-10 shooting.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers return home to meet the Chicago Bulls Tuesday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 PM.
Chad's Take- Might want to use a double-team on Steph Curry when he's having a career-night.
