Damian Lillard scored a team-high 34 points including the go-ahead three-pointer with 32.8 seconds as the Blazers kick off their three-game road trip with a win improving to 16-10 on the season.
Lillard connected on 5-of-11 from beyond-the-arc and dished out a game-high 11 assists.
Gary Trent Jr. added 17 points, Robert Covington scored 15 points on 4-of-4 shooting from three-point range, and Carmelo Anthony led the bench with 15 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists.
Anthony made a critical play late when he found Derrick Jones Jr. for a layup with 6.9 seconds remaining extending Portland's lead to 121-118.
On the Mavericks final possession, Doncic missed three led to a scramble for the ball. It was originally called out-of-bounds off Trent Jr., but an officials review overturned the call giving the ball back to the Blazers allowing them to run the final 2.6 seconds off the clock.
Doncic led Dallas (11-13) with 44 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.
The Blazers outscored the Mavericks 45-30 in the third quarter, Portland's highest scoring quarter since 1992.
