----- Carmelo Anthony and Damian Lillard combed for 51 points as the Portland Trail Blazers edge the Minnesota Timberwolves 125-121 Saturday night at Target Center in Minneapolis.
Melo was the word!
Carmelo scored a team-high 26 points and Damian Lillard added 25 points and 10 assists as the Portland Trail Blazers won the first of back-to-back games against the Minnesota Timberwolves 125-121 Saturday night at Target Center.
Enes Kanter continued his solid play by adding 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Karl-Anthony Towns led Minnesota with 34 points and 10 rebounds, while rookie Anthony Edwards had 21 points and eight boards. The Timberwolves have lost 14 of 16 and are 1-6 under new coach Chris Finch.
The Wolves took a 94-93 lead into the final quarter but that's when the Blazers' bench took over. Anthony hit a baseline jumper and a pair of three-pointers and Anfernee Simons also hit two threes pushing Portland's lead to 109-103.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers will play their second of a back-to-back in Minnesota against the Timberwolves Sunday evening at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM.
Chad's Take- I'm not going to nitpick wins with Nurk and CJ out of the lineup.
