----- CJ McCollum and Norman Powell combined for 51 points as the Portland Trail Blazers edged the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 Friday night at AT&T Center in San Antonio.
No Dame, no problem!
Without Damian Lillard in the lineup Friday night due to a sore hamstring, the Portland Trail Blazers used all-hands-on-deck to grab a critical 107-106 win over the San Antonio Spurs Friday night at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
CJ McCollum led Portland (32-23) with 29 points and six assists and Norman Powell added 21.
The Trail Blazers got some much needed production from their bench. Anfernee Simons scored 16 points, Carmelo finished with 13, and Enes Kanter recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
The Blazers trailed by 16 points in the third quarter, but a 24-10 run cut the deficit to 85-83 entering the fourth quarter.
Robert Covington's steal led to Powell's driving layup with 22.8 seconds remaining giving Portland a 107-106 lead. DeRozan missed a jumper from the wing with 9.2 seconds left, but Jakob Poeltl tipped the rebound out to Rudy Gay, who missed a 3-pointer as time ran out for the Spurs.
''To get a win without Dame was very important,'' Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. ''The way we came back, down 16, was important. To find a way to finish a game was important. So, I think there was a lot of positives to take from this game.''
