Blazers stay hot against the Rockets!
Damian Lillard scored 34 points and dished out six assists as the Portland Trail Blazers got their fourth-consecutive win 140-129 over the Houston Rockets Monday night at Moda Center.
The Blazers found great balance on offense. CJ McCollum scored 28 points, Norman Powell finished with 28, and Jusuf Nurkic added 22 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
The Blazers didn't waste time getting to work on offense scoring a franchise-record 50 points in the first quarter.
The Rockets were missing most of their best players due to assorted injuries but were able to challenge Portland more than most expected as a 14.5 point underdog.
Terry Stotts was disappointed Houston was able to keep it close going into the fourth quarter.
“Yeah, I was disappointed,” he said. “I think it was not surprising. But it would have been nice if we could have built a bigger lead going into the fourth quarter.
“You know, human nature kind of sneaks up on you. I didn't think we had the same pop in the third quarter that we did in the first quarter but, in the end, we took care of business and that's the most important thing.”
Up Next- The Portland Trail Blazers will travel to Salt Lake City to meet the Utah Jazz on Wednesday evening. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 PM.
Chad's Take- Blazers likely need two more wins to ensure 6th seed in the West.
