----- LaMelo Ball finished with 27 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists as the Charlotte Hornets drop the Portland Trail Blazers 125-113 Sunday afternoon at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Trail Blazers start their three-game road trip with a loss in Charlotte!

The Charlotte Hornets young talent was on display Sunday afternoon at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte. LaMelo Ball finished with a game-high 27 points along with nine rebounds and seven assist to lead the Hornets to a 125-113 victory over the Trail Blazers on Sunday afternoon.

Kelly Oubre Jr. added 26 points, seven rebounds, and five assists off the bench as they Hornets connected on 51.7% of their field goals 20-of-42 from beyond-the-arc.

The Hornets took control of a back-and-forth game by opening the fourth quarter on a 23-14 run.

CJ McCollum led Portland (3-3) with 25 points and Damian Lillard finished with 14 points and a game-high 12 assists. The Blazers struggled to make shots connecting on just 44.3% of their field goals and a dismal 17-of-54 from three-point range.

Anfernee Simons scored 19 points in 19 minutes on 6-of-9 shooting providing one bright spot for Coach Chauncy Billups.

Jusuf Nurkic continued his tough play inside scoring 13 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers play the second of a back-to-back tomorrow afternoon in Philadelphia against the 76ers. The game is scheduled to tip off at 4:00 PM.
