Blazers early-season struggles continue in Cleveland!

Jarrett Allen scored 24 points and pulled down 17 rebounds and Collin Sexton finished with 17 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers topped the Portland Trail Blazers 107-104 sending them to their third-straight loss Wednesday night at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

Damian Lillard led Portland (3-5) with 26 points and eight assists, but his early season struggles from the field continued. Lillard made just 10 of his 27 shots including an abysmal 3-of-12 from three-point range including a corner three that would have tied the game with 0.8 seconds remaining on the clock.

In the final 2:30, Lillard missed an open layup, missed two threes, had a shot blocked by Evan Mobley at the rim, and turned the ball over in transition.

To make matters worse, Lillard's teammates couldn't give him a lift. CJ McCollum made just seven of his 19 shots, Robert Covington and Jusuf Nurkic combined for just 12 points, and the team connected on just 13-of-37 from beyond-the-arc.

From the start, the Blazers lacked energy on defense, were slow in rotations, and struggled to slow Cleveland's dribble-penetration.

Cleveland (5-4) connected on 52.7% of their field goals including 15-of-30 from three-point range.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers return home to meet the Indiana Pacers Friday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.

Chad's Take- Lillard's miscues down the stretch doomed the Blazers. Poor effort by the team in Cleveland.
