Damian Lillard scored a season-high 39 points including 14-of-14 from the free throw line as the Portland Trail Blazers won their third-straight game 118-111 over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Jusuf Nurkic led the defensive charge by the Blazers logging a double-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.
The Blazers were aggressive defensively and showing improvement with their communication, their rotations, and help defense. Portland benefitted from extra preparation time receiving two-days off after their last win Wednesday night over Chicago.
The Blazers pushed their advantage to 82-64 in the third quarter thanks to a 21-10 run, but the Sixers cut the deficit to 86-78 entering the fourth.
Philadelphia got to within two points at 97-95 with 6:18 to play, but Portland responded with eight-straight points to squash Philly's comeback hopes.
Portland (9-8) connected on 50% of their field goal attempts including 15-of-34 from three-point range.
Tyrese Maxey led Philadelphia (9-8) with 28 points and nine assists and Tobias Harris finished with 28 points and eight rebounds.
With the win, Portland improved to 8-1 at Moda Center on the season.
