----- Deandre Ayton finished with 28 points and 13 rebounds and Chris Paul added 24 points and 14 assists as the Phoenix Suns defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 111-107 in overtime Tuesday night at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
Chris Paul's dominance over Damian Lillard continued Tuesday night in Portland as the Phoenix Suns improved to 22-5 with a 111-107 overtime victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center.
Paul finished with 24 and 14 assists in 41 minutes and Deandre Ayton scored a team-high 28 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, and Cameron Payne and Cameron Johnson combined to score 29 points off the bench.
Damian Lillard scored a game-high 31 points and dished out 10 assists but connected on just 11 of his 31 shots including a dismal 5-of-16 from beyond-the-arc. Lillard made just 4-of-12 from the field in the fourth quarter and overtime period combined.
In the first night of a back-to-back, Lillard played 47 minutes including the entire second half and overtime period.
Jusuf Nurkic recorded a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds and Norman Powell finished with 23 points.
The Blazers got just 24 points from their bench. Anfernee Simons finished with eight points on 3-of-13 shooting.
After trailing by 14 in the first half, Portland rallied to go up 86-81 on Tony Snell's 3-pointer in the fourth quarter.
The Suns tied it at 100 with 40.5 seconds left after Payne and Norman Powell each made a basket. Nurkic missed the second of two free throws for the Blazers.
After a jump ball, a call that was challenged by the Suns, leaving them with no timeouts, Paul fouled Powell, who missed his first free throw but hit the second to make it 102-100.
Paul's jumper tied it at 102 with 8.2 seconds to go in regulation.
Portland (11-17) has now dropped nine of their last 10 games.
