Nikola Vucevic recorded a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds and DeMar DeRozan finished with 23 points and 10 assists as the Chicago Bulls topped the Portland Trail Blazers 130-116 Sunday afternoon at United Center in Chicago.
The Bulls connected on 55.6% of their shots including 13-of-32 from three-point range and finished with 36 assists.
Chicago (31-18) got 20 points from Zach LaVine and18 points off-the-bench from Coby White.
Portland (21-29) got a game-high 29 points from CJ McCollum, Norman Powell finished with 22 points and four rebounds, and Anfernee Simons dropped 21 points and six assists.
The Blazers led 52-51 with 5:47 to play in the first half after a Powell bucket, but Chicago responded with a 22-13 lead to close out the half taking a 73-65 lead into halftime.
The Bulls put the game away extending with a 21-10 run to start the third quarter pushing their lead to 94-75.
Chicago scored 20 points in the first half of the final quarter.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers will play the second of a back-to-back tomorrow night in Oklahoma City against the Thunder. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM.
Chad's Take- Further proof that the 3-guard lineup doesn't work. Blazers need to get more defensive as a unit and add size. Trade Deadline coming up on February 10th.
