Towns connected on 13-of-13 from two-point range and added five assists as he took advantage of the Blazers lack of size and inexperience in the paint as he took control of the game in the second half.
Anfernee Simons almost singlehandedly carried the Blazers to victory. He finished with 38 points on 9-of-17 shooting from three-point range.
Keon Johnson scored 15 points and added five assists, Brandon Williams scored 21 points, and Trendon Watford added 12 points and 14 rebounds.
The Blazers connected on 47.1% of their shots including 16-of-38 from beyond-the-arc, but committed 16 turnovers leading to 20 points for the Wolves.
Minnesota led by 10 early in the fourth quarter before three straight Portland threes got the Trail Blazers to 111-110.
Up 120-118, Jaylen Nowell had a three-point play, Towns and D'Angelo Russell each scored four points for a 131-118 lead with 2:23 left.
