Josh Hart scored a career-high 44 points on 15-of-21 shooting including 6-of-9 from three-point range as the Portland Trail Blazers snapped their six-game losing streak with a 127-118 victory over the Washington Wizards Saturday night at Moda Center.
Hart was johnny-on-the-spot for Portland adding eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Without Anfernee Simons in the lineup (left knee), Hart provided leadership, toughness, and hustle.
Hart was so good that fans inside Moda Center rained downed chants of "M-V-P" during a third quarter spurt.
All five starters scored in double-figures for Portland. Drew Eubanks recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, Trendon Watford added 27 points and six rebounds, and both CJ Elleby and Brandon Williams scored 10 points.
Portland (26-40) connected on 51.6% of their field goals and won the rebounding battle 43-35.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Wizards with 26 points and five assists and Kyle Kuzma scored 22 points on 4-of-8 shooting from beyond-the-arc.
