The Blazers opened up the game with a 10-2 run before the Spurs settled in, going on a 24-8 run. The put the game away in the second quarter outscoring Portland 43-20, taking a 77-49 halftime lead.
The Trail Blazers outscored the Spurs 32-24 in the third quarter, but San Antonio maintained a double-digit advantage throughout.
The Spurs shot 56.8% from the field including a scorching 16-of-37 from three-point range.
Keon Johnson led Portland (27-50) with 20 points.
Trail Blazers Center Drew Eubanks was honored prior to tipoff with a video highlighting his four seasons with the Spurs. He bowed his head and clapped in appreciation as the fans gave him a long and loud ovation.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers will play the second of two games against the Spurs Sunday in San Antonio. The game is scheduled to tip off at 4:00 PM.
