It was Luka Doncic every which way at American Airlines Center Saturday night in Dallas.
Doncic dominated the Trail Blazers with 42 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 117-112.
“He had 42, a triple-double — I mean, it’s just a little walk in the park,” Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said of Doncic following the game.
Spencer Dinwiddie scored 20 points, including a trio of three-pointers in the final 2:35. The first of those tied it at 106 with 2:35 to play. His next, with 1:52 to go, put the Mavericks ahead for good.
“They trapped Luka. He makes the right read, the right pass,” Dinwiddie said of his late shooting. “We then were just swing, swinging and it just found me.”
Christian Wood scored 19 points off the bench after missing two-games with a sprained knee.
Jerami Grant scored a season-high 37 points, Damian Lillard finished with 29 points and 12 assists, and Anfernee Simons added 24 points and seven rebounds.
The Blazers once again showed good fight on the road. They trailed 49-33 midway through the second quarter but closed the half on a 24-10 run cutting the deficit to 59-57.
Portland (9-4) played without Justise Winslow, Keon Johnson, and Jusuf Nurkic.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers return home to face the San Antonio Spurs Tuesday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
