Donovan Mitchell scored a team-high 26 points and Jarrett Allen recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 119-113 Thursday night at Moda Center.
Damian Lillard scored a season-high 50 points on 16-of-28 shooting, Jerami Grant finished with 22, and Jusuf Nurkic added 12 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists.
“We played hard,” Blazers coach Chauncey Billups said. "We didn’t get into the slump that we are in in one game and we’re not going to get out of it in one game. I think we’re getting close. I’m proud of our effort.”
A Lillard three-pointer put Portland up 102-97 with 7:11 left, but the Blazers couldn't hold the lead. Allen's layup cut the margin to 104-103 and Mitchell's jumper gave the Cavs their first lead of the game with 4:40 to go.
