The Damian Lillard Show!
Damian Lillard scored 60 points as the Portland Trail Blazers topped the Utah Jazz 134-124 Wednesday night at Moda Center.
It was the fourth game of Lillard's career with 60 or more points in a game. His career-high and franchise-record is 61-points. He has reached that mark twice. He missed a three-pointer with 29.1 seconds remaining that would have given him 63, but the ball rolled off the rim.
Lillard connected on 21-of-29 from the field including 9-of-15 from beyond-the-arc. He added seven rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.
When Lillard went to the free throw line late in the game to reach 60, the Moda Center crowd stood on their feet and chanted, "MVP! MVP! MVP!" as he sank both.
The Blazers trailed 31-19 after the first quarter, but erupted for 47-points in the second to gain control in the game. They scored 36 in the third to extend their lead to double-digits entering the fourth quarter.
Jerami Grant finished with 19 and Anfernee Simons added 16 points and nine assists. The Blazers connected on 57.3% of their field goals.
Notes- Wilt Chamberlain leads the NBA with 32 games in his career with 60 or more points in a game. Kobe Bryant is second with six.
