Blazers Soar Past Lakers

----- Damian Lillard finished with 40 points, six rebounds, and five assists as the Portland Trail Blazers rocked the Los Angeles Lakers 127-115 Monday night at Moda Center in Portland.

Damian Lillard continued his stellar play on Monday night as the Portland Trail Blazers dominated the Los Angeles Lakers 127-115 at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

Lillard finished the night with 40 points on 13-of-23 shooting including a sizzling 8-of-14 from beyond-the-arc. He added six rebounds and five assists. Lillard scored 30-points in the first half helping the Blazers build a 19-point advantage at the break.

Lillard was aggressive early in the game looking to provide a spark for his teammates.

“I think the number one thing is just being aggressive," Lillard said. "That’s the mentality, because I’m not going out there saying I want to score points — I’m just applying pressure. I’m going to attack coverages, take opportunities that are there, try to create opportunities."

Portland (28-29) was on-fire from the opening tip. They connected on a franchise-best 17 three-pointers in the first half and finished with a season-best 23 threes. The Blazers made 47.4% of their shots including 23-of-47 from beyond-the-arc.

The Blazers led by as many as 27 as they built a 22-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Lebron James (ankle) and Jerami Grant (concussion) did not play on Monday night.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers host the Washington Wizards tomorrow night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
