Portland (29-32) took control of the game early by scoring 41 points in the first quarter and forcing the Warriors into a number of bad shots with solid defense. The momentum continued into the second quarter as the Blazers built a 63-40 lead with 2:28 remaining in the half. The Blazers connected on 50% of their field goals in the first half including 42.1% from beyond-the-arc.
Golden State (32-30) exploded in the third quarter going on a 29-8 run turning a 17-point deficit into a five-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Warriors used a box-and-one to frustrate Damian Lillard, attacked the Blazers zone defense, and used movement to create a number of easy shots.
Lillard scored a team-high 25 points and Jerami Grant added 24 points and five rebounds.
The Warriors outscored the Trail Blazers 75-40 in the second half. They connected on 67.4% of their field goals including 7-of-14 from three-point range.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers play the second of a back-to-back tomorrow night against the New Orleans Pelicans at Moda Center in Portland. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
