Playing their second game on back-to-back nights proved to be too much for the injury-riddled Trail Blazers.
Donovan Mitchell scored a game-high 34 points on 13-of-20 shooting and Evan Mobley recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 109-95 Wednesday night at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
Jerami Grant led Portland with 17 points, Duop Reath added 16 points and three assists, and Matisse Thybulle added 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
Portland (3-8) competed on the defensive end and put themselves within striking distance heading into the fourth quarter trailing by eight at 83-75. The Cavs opened the quarter on a 16-6 run to put the game away.
The Blazes offensive woes continued Wednesday night as they connected on just 37.4% of their field goals and managed to score just 20 points in the final period.
