Pistons Stun Trail Blazers In Overtime

----- Jalen Duren recorded a double-double with 27 points and 22 rebounds and Jaden Ivey added 26 as the Detroit Pistons overcome a 23-point second half deficit to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 128-122 in overtime Thursday night at Moda Center.

The Detroit Pistons roar back in the second half to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers and record back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Jalen Duren finished with 27 points and 22 rebounds and Jaden Ivey added 26 as the Detroit Pistons overcame a 23-point second half deficit to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 128-122 in overtime Thursday night at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

Jerami Grant led the short-handed Blazers with a career-high 49 points on 14-of-29 shooting.

Portland (15-36) were without Malcolm Brogdon, Scoot Henderson, and Deandre Ayton. Anfernee Simons left the game in the third quarter with a sprained ankle. He finished with game 29 points and five assists.

The Blazers led by as many as 23-points in the third quarter, but the Pistons closed the quarter on a 15-5 cutting Portland's lead to 97-84 entering the fourth quarter.

Portland was in control of the game leading 110-96 with 8:17 to play but Detroit used a 15-3 run to cut the Blazers lead to two-points at 113-111 with 3:06 remaining.

Grant scored five-straight points to put the Blazers on top 118-113 but Detroit finished the fourth on a 7-2 run to tie the game at 120 and force overtime.

Detroit (8-43) outscored Portland 8-2 in the overtime period. The Blazers connected on just 1-of-9 from the field in the extra period.

Notes- With Henderson, Brogdon, and Simons out of the lineup, Ashton Hagans played 27 minutes. He finished with four points and three assists on 2-of-7 shooting. He was signed to a 10-day contract earlier on Thursday.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers host the New Orleans Pelicans Saturday night at Moda Center in Portland. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.

Chad's Take- Brutal loss but understandable. Without Scoot, Ayton, Brogdon, and Simons, the Blazers ran out of gas.
