Deandre Ayton recorded a double-double with 30 points and 13 rebounds and Scoot Henderson added 19 points and 15 assists.
The Trail Blazers took a 55-52 lead into the locker room, but the Pelicans opened the third on a 20-12 run.
A later 17-8 Pelicans run gave New Orleans an 84-75 lead with 2:29 remaining in the third.
New Orleans led 87-78 entering the fourth after outscoring Portland 35-22 in the third. Murphy III had 17 in the period and the Pelicans scored 11 points of of six Trail Blazers' turnovers.
Portland made just two field goals in the first 5:27 of the fourth as New Orleans pushed their lead to 19 at 104-85.
The Trail Blazers committed 23 turnovers leading to 33 points for the Pelicans.
