Warriors Rout Trail Blazers In Season Opener

The 35-point loss was the largest margin-of-defeat for the Trail Blazers in a season opener in franchise history.

Scoot Henderson led Portland (0-1) with 22 points on 7-of-18 shooting and Deandre Ayton finished with a double-double 10 points and 11 rebounds.

With the scored tied 44-44 in the second quarter, Golden State (1-0) closed the half on an 18-6 run taking a 62-50 halftime lead. The Warriors scored 41 points in the second connecting on 8-of-15 from beyond-the-arc.

The Warriors put the game away with a 21-4 third quarter run pushing their lead to 28 at 95-67 with 1:39 left in the quarter. Portland never threatened after that point.

Golden State finished the game +36 at the three-point line and a 31-5 edge in fastbreak points.
