Minnesota Vikings starting left tackle Christian Darrisaw will undergo season-ending surgery on a knee injury suffered during his team's loss to the Los Angeles Rams Thursday (October 24) night, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Friday (October 25).

"#Vikings standout LT Christian Darrisaw suffered a knee injury that will require season-ending surgery, per source after the MRI. Brutal," Rapoport wrote on his X account.

Darrisaw, 25, who was on pace to have a Pro Bowl season, was injured when Rams safety Jaylen McCollough fell into his knee during with 35 seconds remaining in the second quarter. The former Virginia Tech standout was helped to the locker room by team medical officials and replaced by veteran David Quessenberry.

The injury occurred as the Vikings opted to take the ball at their own 3-yard line, rather than kneel on the ball to conclude the first half. The Rams had one timeout remaining, which would've allowed them to force Minnesota to kneel twice and risk a potential safety.

Darrisaw has started in 46 games and made 48 appearance since being selected by the Vikings in the first-round of the 2021 NFL Draft, which included all seven during the 2024 NFL season. Minnesota is currently facing a two-game losing streak, having suffered its first loss of the season to the NFC North Division rival Detroit Lions last weekend.
