The Memphis Grizzlies delivered a knockout punch Sunday night.
Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with 20 points and seven rebounds and Scotty Pippen Jr. added 17 points and four rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies humbled the Portland Trail Blazers 134-89 Sunday night at Moda Center.
The 45-point loss is the seventh-worst defeat in franchise history.
Memphis (7-4) led 64-44 at halftime and put the game out of reach early in the third with a 15-6 run pushing their advantage to 79-50.
The Grizzlies were +36 at the three-point line and +11 in points off turnovers.
Before the game, the team had a moment of silence for longtime radio voice, Brian Wheeler. Wheeler was the play-by-play voice of the Trail Blazers for 21 seasons. It was a very classy move by the franchise to pay tribute to a legend inside Rip City.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers host the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday night at Moda Center for the first of back-to-back home games against the Wolves. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
Chad's Take- The Trail Blazers showed pure class by honoring Brian Wheeler. Well done!
