Shaedon Sharpe led Portland (23-25) with 31 points on 11-of-20 shooting and Donovan Clingan recorded a double-double with 14 points and 20 rebounds. Clingan set a team record with 13 offensive rebounds. Portland had a 69-46 edge in rebounding.

The Blazers built a seven-point lead in the second quarter but the Wizards closed the half on a 29-15 run to take a 50-43 halftime lead.

Portland took a four-point lead with 3:53 to play following a three-pointer from Avdija, but Washington responded with a 12-2 run to take a six-point lead with 1:01 remaining. After five-straight points from Sharpe cut the deficit to one at 112-111 with Kyshawn George at the free throw line with 15.5 seconds remaining. George would make one of two and Portland called timeout down just two.

Sharpe's fadeaway 15-foot fadeaway jumper came up short and Khris Middleton sealed the game at the free throw line.

Portland mistakes proved costly. The Blazers committed 20 turnovers leading to 29 points for the Wizards and connected on just 13-of-23 from the free throw line.

In their last two games, Portland is just 33-of-53 from the charity stripe.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers will travel to New York City to meet the Knicks Friday afternoon. The game is scheduled to tip off at 4:30 PM.
