Alperen Sengun finished with 28 points and six rebounds and Amen Thompson added 26 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists as the Houston Rockets topped the Portland Trail Blazers 106-99 Friday night at Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
Jerami Grant led Portland with 21 points and Donovan Clingan added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Jrue Holiday continued his solid play with 18 points and 10 assists.
Portland led by as many as 13 in the first quarter but Houston opened the second on a 24-12 run and took a one-point lead into halftime.
The Trail Blazers used a 14-2 run at the end of the third into the beginning of the fourth to take an eight-point lead but Houston responded with a 21-4 run to take a nine-point lead with 4:07 remaining.
The Trail Blazers went scoreless for over five minutes in the fourth as the Rockets run reached 23-4 to put the game away.
Portland (30-34) never recovered and fall to 2-3 on their five-game road trip.
Portland scored just 17 points in the fourth on 33% shooting including 1-of-8 from beyond the arc.
The Trail Blazers had just six assists in the second half and made just 21-of-37 from the free throw line.
