At least two people were killed when a speeding car crashed into the Willamette River in Portland early Monday morning.

A police officer saw the car being driven recklessly and tried to pull it over, but the driver fled, crashed through the railing at Waterfront Park and into the river.

The officer saw one person swimming, who was rescued by Portland Fire.

Three other people were in the car, ages 17 to 20.
