These Red Sox Players Have COVID-19

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two relief pitchers for the Boston Red Sox have tested positive for the coronavirus this week, and were missing from the team's first day of summer training camp at Fenway Park.

On Saturday, ESPN reported team manager Ron Roenicke said left-handers Josh Taylor and Darwinzon Hernandez have tested positive for COVID-19 and are isolating from their teammates.

According to ESPN, more than 30 MLB players tested positive for the virus this week.

That includes the two Red Sox pitchers, four members of the Atlanta Braves, four players with the Minnesota Twins, a catcher for the Kansas City Royals, a Cleveland Indians outfielder, and a San Diego Padres outfielder.

On Friday, as summer training started at Fenway, Roenicke told reporters the team did have "some positive tests," but he would not disclose the names of those individuals.
