Former Patriots Player Says Cam Newton's NFL Career is Over

Former Patriots Player Says Cam Newton's NFL Career is Over

Rob Parker: “Is Cam Newton coming back to New England?”

Christian Fauria: “Rob, I don’t think he’s going to be in the league. Forget about New England, I don’t think he’s going to be in the NFL... Whenever someone is critical of him, they’re critical of him and then they say ‘BUT HE’S A GREAT GUY!’ I don’t think he’ll be in the league. And that’s not me throwing shade about being disrespectful to him and what he’s accomplished, I just don’t think he’s a good quarterback and he could start in the NFL. And he’s for damn sure not going to be in New England… I laugh when I hear national analysts talk about Cam Newton, and when I hear him on the podcast he did where he has Brandon Marshall and Fred Taylor and all these guys like talking him up like they watched every game. I watched every single game and I know the level where players get to an era where teams just know what he is. There is a reason why he didn’t have a job for 86 nights. Did he help himself or hurt himself last year? Did he prove that teams were wrong for not signing him for 86 nights or did he prove all those teams right? You tell me.” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to former New England Patriots tight end and WEEI sports personality Christian Fauria join The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker to explain why he not only guarantees that Newton won’t be back with the Patriots next season, but that Cam won’t be in the NFL at all.

Newton finished 2020 with the fewest passing yards per game in the league, the 30th ranked QBR, and a TD/INT ratio of 8/10 in 15 starts.

Check out the audio above as Fauria details why he laughs at national analysts who act like the free agent Newton can still become a prominent contributor in the right situation.
