KJ's SLAM PROPELS BEAVS PAST LSU 13-1

Total dominance!

Top-ranked Oregon State with a tremendous performance against LSU. The Beavers win 13-1 and now are just one win away from qualifying for the College World Series championship finals in Omaha. K J Harrison’s first ever grand slam at TD Ameritrade Park was a huge moment for OSU.

The Beaver have now won 23-games in a row tying a school record while ending the LSU Tigers win streak at 17.

The 56-4 Beavers will now wait until Friday to see if they play Florida State or LSU again. The Seminoles and Tigers will play an elimination game on Wednesday at 4:pm Pacific time.

Bryce Fehmel was outstanding once again for Oregon State. Eight innings giving up just one run and two hits with three strikeouts. After 107 pitches he handed the ball to Sam Tweedt who mopped things up in the ninth.

TOP OF THE FIRST
Steven Kwan led off the game with a bunt single. He moved to second on a groundout by Nick Madrigal and Trevor Larnach picks up the RBI with a clutch single.

TOP OF THE FIFTH
Cadyn Grenier reaches base on an error. Madrigal singles to center …..Grenier advances to third. Larnach then with a huge single driving in two more….3-0 Beavs

TOP OF THE SIXTH
This was the inning that gave the Beavers a ton of breathing room. K J Harrison hits a pitch over the left-center field wall. The first grand-slam in the history of TD Ameritrade Park and the Beavers lead 8-0.

The Beavers cruise to the 13-1 drubbing of LSU and now find themselves in the CWS driver’s seat. They get the next three days to rest arms and practice before Friday’s game in Omaha.

Coverage beings Friday at 11:30am with Mike Parker on the Beaver Sports Network and RIP CITY RADIO with the first pitch a little after Noon. A win over LSU or FSU and Oregon State will move into the Championship Series which begins on Monday June 26th.
