Here comes the Pac-12. Can the Beavs compete?

The non-conference schedule is complete for Oregon State. A fourth quarter debacle in Fort Collins....a big sigh of relief by barely beating PSU....and an embarrassing loss to Minnesota at home. Not exactly how it was written up during training camp. High expectations and excitement have been replaced by soul searching and doubts about this team as they head to the Palouse and Pac-12 play against the Cougs on Saturday. I could recount the missed assignments on defense and the fact they have zero sacks after three games. The offensive shutdown at the start of the 3rd quarter was also super depressing. However, while most Portland areas columnists have written off the team and wonder if they can win any more games at all......I am really curious to see how the coaches handle this crisis of confidence and let's see how they respond. The season is still young and its easy to jump off of bandwagons. I think they are close in some areas. However, ten turnovers in three games is a recipe for losing. Mistake-free football will give the Beavers a chance in conference play.  Pregame coverage on 1190 KEX Saturday at 10:30am with Travis Demers and Chad Doing!!
