A tough weekend in Tucson for the Beavers after a great start. Friday night's 6-2 win over the Wildcats is chronicled in the above highlight package....but it was all downhill after that. Luke Heimlich was not effective on Saturday giving up six runs in 3 1/3 innings....Cats won that one 15-4.
And Sunday the Beavs couldn't hold that 5-2 lead....Arizona scoring three in the eighth to tie it and winning it 6-5 in the bottom of the Ninth
It's the Beavers' second consecutive Pac-12 baseball series loss, which follows OSU's streak of 16 Pac-12 series victories in a row.
Oregon State (24-6, 7-5 Pac-12) led 5-2 heading to the bottom of the eighth, but then the Wildcats generated three runs to tie the game. Alfonso Rivas' one-out single with the bases loaded in the ninth then secured the walkoff for Arizona (19-11, 4-5).
Andy Armstrong finished with two doubles, and Steven Kwan and Cadyn Grenier also had two hits apiece for the Beavers.
.OSU opens a three-game, nonconference series at Missouri State at 9 a.m. PT Friday.
